Working together to train Australian GPs

“Strong communities and healthy futures through embedding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander ways in GP Training.”

Joint Colleges Training Services (JCTS) weaves clinical and cultural education together to create greater access, acceptance and participation in healthcare for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and communities.

We promote the prevention and control of diseases by providing ongoing cultural mentorship, training and education. We also collaborate with government agencies to provide suitable housing and facilities for GPs and GP registrars working in remote communities.

We understand the power of early cultural education and are committed to creating positive social change by giving general practitioners and registrars the best possible start in connecting and learning about working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to create healthy futures and strong communities.
