Roles with JCTS

Cultural Educator

Cultural Educators are identified positions for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander applicants only who play an important role in raising and promoting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural awareness and cultural safety in GP Training. They work as a member of a cohesive and collaborative team and provide region wide support. They ensure a coordinated approach for the training of GP registrars in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health, by implementing key priority areas and strategies that support GP registrar training.

Medical Educator

Medical Educators work within their local training region to develop, deliver and evaluate cultural education programs for GP Registrars and provide support to GP Supervisors. Medical Educators are required to provide advice to GP Registrars about their specialist training with the relevant ACRRM/RACGP College with learning planning, education, training and assessment requirements and curricula.

Program Coordinator

Program Coordinators are responsible for the management and delivery of JCTS program within the region. Program Coordinators work closely and collaboratively with the regional JCTS team, the GP Training program’s operations team, medical educators and registrars, supervisors and practices in the region, and the Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services.

Administration Officer

Administration Officers provide a range of administrative tasks and procedures that underpin the successful delivery of programs and activities of the regional JCTS team.
